The Critiball is an orb that deals no base damage, but will always crit, and converts every few pegs it hits (and the 1st peg hit at level 2) to Critical Pegs
Notes[]
- Critical Pegs created by the Critiball do NOT change places each shot, unlike normal crit pegs.
- Refresh Pegs and Dull Pegs cannot be converted by the Critiball, they will simply act as if they were hit by any other orb, even when a Critical Peg would usually be created.
Strategy[]
- This orb synergizes incredibly well with Critsomallos Fleece and Critikris, as it can very easily create a large number of Critical Pegs that can be followed up on with a high crit damage orb, something that having a lot of critical pegs can benefit from as hitting multiple becomes significantly less challenging, and provides an actual benefit to hitting multiple critical pegs in a row which usually has no benefit
- Many high critical damage orbs like Allorbnothing and critical synergy focused orbs and relics like Nimball and Short Stack in general are greatly appreciative of having a higher chance to crit or multiple triggers of secondary effects from having lots of Critical Pegs
- Has a unique and usually risky synergy with Betsy's Hedge, due to the fact the created Critical Pegs do not move you can fire a Critiball to one side of the pegboard and then fire a highly boosted orb to the other side (while praying it doesn't bounce back over and hit a crit anyways...)
- Level 3 Allorbnothing can mitigate this issue by simply becoming a gigantic crit orb, instead encouraging you to fire in that direction turning a hedged bet into a rigged one
- Like any "Convert every x hit into y" styled orb, Multiball options like Duplication Station and Matryoshka Shell allow you to crank the conversion rate to the next level
- Strange Brew allows you to not lose damage from converting a large amount of pegs to Critical Pegs, especially if you haven't found any key relics or orbs to take advantage of the large amount of Critical Pegs just yet

- v0.7.52: No longer triggers crit pegs, instead guaranteeing a crit when fired
- v0.7.42: Peg conversion nerfed to every 9 pegs at levels 1 and 2, then every 7 at level 3
- v0.7.34: Regular damage decreased, crit damage increased dramatically (1/1 at all levels -> 0/(4/5/6)). Critiball + other sources of Durable should now behave "as expected". crit pegs + Durable now allows for multiple hits.
