The Consuming Chalice is a boss relic that boosts critical damage by 4, but removes a Refresh Peg from the board.

This section is a Strategy Guide and is written from the subjective view of the playerbase. If you think this section is inaccurate, feel free to update it.
  • Consuming Chalice is a risky relic to take if you are not able to consistently refresh the board. If you have alternative methods such as Refreshield or Etherwheel, or ways to add extra Refresh Pegs with either Replenishorb or PegBag, Consuming Chalice is worth taking to provide a large critical damage boost.
    • However, if you are running a build with orbs and relics that rely on Refresh Pegs to generate Muscircle - or builds that are similar - taking consuming Chalice is NOT advised.
  • Having orbs with high critical damage is recommended with Consuming Chalice, such as Daggorb or Eviscorbate.
  • A Level 3 Extra-Orbinary benefits well from Consuming Chalice's damage boost, as it will add the +4 to its base damage as opposed to its critical damage.
  • The removal of the Refresh Peg can prove useful alongside the Morbid effect, particularly at Cruciball Level 5 when there is only one Refresh Peg to begin with. Combine with either Defresh Potion or Morbidorb to get the most benefit.
  • A further expansion on the above point would be to take Bag of Orange Pegs and gain a damage multiplier from having an empty board.
