Avogadro hiding behind his tree
Avogadro (aka Mole Boss or Mole or Tree Mole) is a boss that appears in the Forest, and is usually the first boss the player encounters.
Avogadro will hide behind his tree, occasionally digging to the space in front of the player to deal damage (summoning plants when he leaves his old spot) - which can make the fight harder if the player is not properly prepared.
Behavior[]
- Avogadro will hide behind his tree for a few turns before burrowing right next to the player and attacking for 10 damage, retreat behind the tree, the spawn plants.
- On every third turn Avogadro will burrow back to the player (moving any plants in front of the tree behind him) and will swap places with a plant if any are available afterwards.
- Defeating Avogadro will cause the encounter to be won, even if other enemies remain.
- Bombs will appear (or "grow") in the leaves of the tree shape in the center of the board whenever Avogadro moves back behind his tree.
Immunities[]
- Blind (Avogadro and tree only)
Strategies[]
- Piercing orbs and targeting orbs are invaluable in this fight since they can bypass both the spawned minions and the high-health tree
- Bringing a Doctorb (or two) can help offset the damage it deals, as the fight can take a dozen turns to complete if ill-prepared
- Likewise, a Swoltorb can help increase the damage dealt, especially if piercing orbs are brought to the fight.
- The fact that the pegboard generates bombs every couple of turns can be taken advantage of with bomb relics.
- Applying bramble can stop the mole from running behind the tree, however it will still continue to hit you while it is affected by bramble (now every turn) dealing ten damage each time.

Trivia[]
- The tree in the middle of the enemy area heavily resembles the one in the strange tree event
- His immunity to Blind is likely because of the near-blidiness of the real-world animal, which can navigate in near-zero light.
- According to the developers, the mole's name is "Avogadro"; and his health is derived from Avogadro's Constant.
- This is a reference to the SI unit called the mole, and it's association with Avogadro's Constant.
